Monday 1/20/14 in the afternoon, the guides brought a dog inside!

It has been said animals are more sensitive than humans.  I decided to put this to the test at Morse Mill Hotel by bringing my dog along Monday afternoon.  Below is what we experienced that day:

  • Chewy ran around the 1st floor comfortably sniffing around as he would any new place he enters.
  • Different story in the attic….. as Keith and I sat in chairs surrounding the toys, we set up the mag light on the floor and had the K2 meter in hand.
  • Five minutes after sitting talking we heard a scratching noise in the corner toward the back side of the house, Chewy was sitting still in an opposite corner.  He got up ran around sniffing and his ears would perk up looking toward the small room in the attic.
  • After 13 minutes we heard a whisper, it sounded like 3 words were said however, we did not understand what was said.  Chewy stopped in his tracks at the same time we heard it and his ears perked up as he starred off in a different direction than where we were sitting looking for where the whisper came from.
  • Soon after the mag light turned on and off by itself, Chewy jumped on my lap.
  • Keith felt a cold draft where he was sitting and asked “if you just walked by me, will you turn on the flashlight?”  the light came on and turned off again by itself.
  • We discussed going to the 2nd floor and the mag light turned on again.  We said you can come with us to the 2nd floor if you like.  As we were trying to exit the attic the K2 meter lit up to red and held.  Chewy whimpered at the same time!!  He started acting strange, scared, shaking a little and ran into the small room in the attic stood in the doorway starred at us and would not come out.  We called him to “come here” and he wouldn’t budge!  Then we received more k2 flashes up to red standing in the middle of the attic.
  • Keith felt cold behind him and moved the k2 meter behind his back, it flashed to orange.  He walked around the attic trying to get more k2 hits and wherever Keith would go Chewy would go in the opposite direction.  With each k2 hit Chewy would hide in a corner in the small room.
  • Keith continued to walk around the attic to “find” whoever was lighting up the k2 with success flashing and holding at red, we asked if we were playing hide and go seek!  He also felt a child’s hand grab his.  Anytime he walked past the top of the staircase he would get a k2 hit and felt a cold space as if to block our exit from the attic.
  • 34 minutes into this investigation we both heard a door swing open or closed.  Chewy looked down at the 2nd floor after we heard this.  All entry doors into the house were locked.  There was a man working outside on this day, Keith looked out the window and the man was out in the yard by the shed.
  • Keith softly kicked the purple ball across the attic, it slowly rolled back around a paper hat on the floor and came to a complete stop on a board that was on an incline.  We immediately reviewed the video to watch this again then tried to duplicate what had happened and could not duplicate it!
  • We heard footsteps come from the floor below us.  Still receiving k2 hits I felt a cold breeze go by me on my left side, twice!  No windows or doors were open and it was not extremely or even slightly windy.  K2 hits stopped and Chewy was still in the small room just looking into the area we were in, he was looking past us and not at us.  Then I felt a cold pressure on my upper back and the back of my neck, I told it to “get off, get off of me!” and it was gone.  K2 hits stopped, the attic didn’t seem playful anymore.  I was ready to move, Keith said “if you want us to leave we will leave”.  He asked “should we leave the attic?” and the k2 lit up to red.  When I tried to retrieve Chewy from the small room he ran from me and would not come when we called him to.  I picked him up and he was shaking.  It is not any Chewy’s nature to run from anyone especially me.
  • We went to the 2nd floor to try and find the door we heard swing.  There are 5 rooms with doors on this floor.   One door was closed (room next to suspended bed bedroom), not latched, and the transom window above it was swinging.  Chewy did not favor this floor, he was constantly running until he found a chair to hide under.  We walked around a bit and decided it was time to head home.
  •  In the car, Chewy sacked out and slept for the hour drive home.
